China Wows the World!

China provided a grand spectacle like none ever before seen for the opening of the 2008 Olympics. The opening ceremony was so spectacular that it was like a fastastic theatre piece. Even the lighting of the olympic cauldron was reworked into an awesome visual spectable never before seen. The effects, and pyrotechnics were like a Hollywood movie. It is being hailed China's "Coming Out" Party; as the greatest opening ceremony ever; the scope in keeping with the cope of China itself. China has spared no expense, spending $40 billion total in hosting the Olympic games and millions on the opening ceremony alone with a total of 2008 spectacular performers. The numerological theme of "8" dominated the event and indeed the whole olympics for China with everything possible having an "8" which is deemed the lucky number.

Even though through spectacle and entertainment, China managed to demonstrate its might; both awe-inspiring and intimidating but not for the deliberate effert to temper that effect with lots of smiles and warm welcomes.

For now it appears to be random violence. It's awful when stuff like this happens, but it can happen anywhere.
